Dr. Clifford-Amos was born in Cheshire, England. He was educated at the Royal College of Music, the Universities of Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Wales. He has also held visiting Fellowships at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. His qualifications are MA, MEd, LRAM, LTCL, PhD. He has published in English Language, English Literature, Philosophy and Education, and has completed a major study on the English Renaissance poet Edmund Spenser. He is experienced as a lecturer, manager and researcher in higher education. Dr. Clifford-Amos is a Local Government Councillor in the South East of England and has held the office of Deputy Mayor for the town of Sandwich in Kent.
A regular speaker across Europe, Dr. Clifford-Amos has been active in several countries as an adviser on the Bologna process and Quality Assurance.
