Yarden Ben-David
Armenian Impressions

Coming to this lovely village, laid on top of some of the most beautiful mountains in the world, I did not know what to expect. Needless to say, I was not used to such beautiful view laying straight out of my bedroom window. Flying from a big city like London, I was used to the big city life—where no one knows his neighbors, and the people are generally cold.

On the first minute I came out of the car, I received an amazing welcome from the director of the college— eating traditional Armenian bread, and meeting the locals, who are some of the nicest people I'd ever known.

Together, we worked with this small and lovely community on a variety of things. We played games to get to know each other at first, which we all enjoyed greatly, and then we went to do some sustainability work in a monastry near the college. On the bus ride to the monastry we sang songs and together worked for a greener future.

I am greatly impressed with the spirit of these people in the village of Yeghnadzor. Everyone seems to know everyone: and they all work together. I have a lot to learn from them and from their passion.
