Lecturers: Algirdas Valiulis Georgy Bazsa Armen Budaghyan

The purpose of this training course was to raise the professional skills of university administrators in the field of post-graduate education administration. There were 19 participants from different universities of Armenia and 4 participants from foreign universities, Bulgaria, Russia, Serbia and Ukraine (see the list of participants). Foreign participants were chosen as the result of competition. The announcements were sent to different foreign organizations and higher educational institutions including the institutes in CIS and Eastern Europe which had sent their participants to the previous Summer Schools in 2004 and 2006.
Two lecturers were invited: Dr. Algirdas Valiulis from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University and Dr. Gyorgy Bazsa from University of Debrecen, Hungary.
The "Reader", including materials sent by the lecturers of the Summer School was completed and given to the participants for preparing for the Summer School. Here You can find the electronic version of the materials of the Reader.
Summer School was held at the YSU, in the Conference Hall after Rita and Vartges Paleyan, which is equipped for simultaneous translation. Representatives from OSI-Armenia, the National Academy of Science of Armenia, Ministries, Universities, international and social organizations were invited to take part in the opening ceremony of the Summer School. The President of the "Scientific and Educational Center of National Development" non-governmental organization Gayane Ghukasyan opened the ceremony. Then Alexander Grigoryan, the vice-rector of the YSU, Armen Trchunyan, the president of the Supreme Attestation Committee, David Amiryan, deputy director of OSI AF-Armenia and Professor Algirdas Valiulis from Lithuania greeted the participants. Nataliia Medzhibovska, the representative of the Odessa State Economic University, who was participating in the Summer School for the second time made a greeting speech on behalf of the participants.
During the Summer School the main lectures were delivered by Algirdas Valiulis from Lithuania (22 academic hours), Gyorgy Bazsa from Hungary (22 academic hours) and one lecture by Armen Budaghyan from Armenia.
During the program educational visits to Matenadaran, library of the YSU, the library of the American University of Armenia, digital library of classical Armenian Literature were organized. There were also cultural programs including visits to Tsitsernakaberd, the museum of the Armenian Genocide, the Erebuni museum, the 20th century classical concert in Art Gallery, Echmiatsin, Zvartnots.
For the assessment of the Summer School evaluation lists (in Armenian and in English) were distributed to all the participants. The analyses of the evaluation lists showed that to the questions "To which extent the course contributed to the progress of your knowledge in Education Administration?" and "Are you generally satisfied with the organization level of the courses?" 78,3% and 95,7% of the participants gave positive answers.
